I own Legions Realty in Battle Ground and have been a realtor for 24 years. I grew up in Santa
Clarita, CA, a wonderful place with rolling hills, snakes, bobcats, and coyotes. I enjoy hiking
with my dogs and one cat. In 1997, I moved to Washington for my husband’s job. My kids were
10 and 2 when I got my real estate license. I was a successful salesperson in CA, confident in
my customer service skills. I studied and passed my real estate exam in 42 days, thanks to an
ice storm that kept me at home studying. My first year, I was Rookie of the Year. Over the
years, I worked for four different realty companies. I always wanted to learn everything about
homes and the land they sit on. Eventually, I opened my own brokerage to teach other
realtors what they should know and what the public expects. It surprised me how much
realtors are not taught when they receive their license. Teaching has always been my passion.
Now, I teach real estate classes to the agents in my office. I have people from the public who
want to take my classes. I am working on a public class, coming soon.
I played soccer for 40 years, both indoor and outdoor, and was on an all-star team in the 80s.
I even played in an exhibition game at the Rose Bowl in California—super cool! I was a Girl
Scout leader for 9 years and a soccer coach for 11 years. I learned in both of those situations.
Sometimes it’s not about the meeting or practice; it’s about the girls themselves, who need
the team spirit to build their confidence and deal with hard life situations. My volunteer heart
comes from my mother and grandmother. My grandmother rescued dogs and cats through
pet assistance in California. I have three rescued dogs and two rescued parrots. I’m known for
stopping in the middle of the road for animals on the loose. The craziest animals I have
rescued from the road are a ferret and a 4-foot gopher snake (I love snakes). My mother
taught me the value of volunteering. She was my Girl Scout leader until I was 13, and she was
the best. I love volunteering. It is the best way to meet new people and help the community.
These days, I enjoy taking road trips and camping, and I love watching my grandkids play all-
star sports—because they definitely got that from me! Getting to know the wonderful women
in WEO has been a pleasure. Looking forward to more adventures with my WEO sisters.
