January 2025 Member Spotlight: Shannon Calles
Shannon Calles
I am the Founder of Clark County Senior Resources. This organization is more than a locally owned referral agency; it is a mission shaped by my personal experience caring for my mother as she faced dementia related to COPD. That journey inspired me to devote myself to supporting seniors and their families in making informed decisions about care. As a Certified Dementia Practitioner, I am dedicated to compassionate service and committed to acting in the best interests of seniors.
My company provides immediate emotional relief and practical guidance to overwhelmed adult children (primarily daughters) caring for aging parents who can no longer live independently. I’m on a mission to help adult daughters caring for aging parents get Mom the care she deserves without losing themselves in the process. By providing authentic guidance, emotional relief, and truth-telling support that only comes from someone who's walked this exact path and emerged stronger. My Vision is to create a world where adult children can honor their parents AND themselves through every caregiving decision. Please note, our services come at no cost to families. Compensation comes from our partner communities.
I have been married for 30 years, and we have 6 Children and 13 Grandkids (his mine and ours). In 2009, my family relocated to the Pacific Northwest. Soon after, I began working as a Community Relations Director in senior living. Over the past 15 years, I have gained extensive experience in the senior housing industry, moving on to the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing serving up to 18 communities in 4 states. I am a Certified Dementia Practitioner and a Licensed Administrator for Assisted Living Facilities. My work has involved visiting numerous communities and assessing quality standards of care. Now, I have the privilege of helping others who are navigating similar challenges to those I faced with my mother. I am also serving as a Support Leader with HOPE Dementia every Thursday at 10 AM!
